Asian Style Meatballs

Are you looking for new, flavorful ways to use ground beef? These Asian style meatballs will change your opinion of meatballs forever because they are packed with flavor and coated in a sweet and savory sauce. Enjoy!

Ground beef is an easy protein to have on hand and to cook, especially right now. It does get a little boring though, right? Spaghetti, meatloaf, tacos. Those are all great and easy, but sometimes dinners need some oomph. Let these meatballs be your fake out takeout for the week.

Whenever I make anything Asian inspired, I live for the sauce (and I usually make more than I need to). Fluffy rice soaking up a rich sauce – perfection! Thankfully my kids love the bold flavors in this sauce, and it’s easy to tone up or tone down the spice level in these. Meatballs also make the perfect appetizer for your next party, and by party I mean get together with the people you live with because that’s the only responsible thing to do right now. Are you with me?

Let me know if you try them, and if you do, thank you for letting me be a part of your family dinner! ❤️

Instructions
Meatballs
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl, thoroughly mix together all of the meatball ingredients.
  3. Use a cookie scoop to scoop out ~2 Tbsp of meatball mixture at a time. Roll into a ball and place in an oven safe skillet. Repeat until you have used all of the meat. Try to not let the meatballs touch in the pan.
  4. Bake for 12 minutes then pour the sauce over the meatballs and cook for an additional 15 minutes. Serve over rice.
Sauce
  1. In a small saucepan, pour in all of the sauce ingredients and bring to a simmer.
  2. Simmer for 10 minutes. Then pour over the meatballs as stated above.
Recipe Notes

The sauce will still be very runny when the meatballs come out. This is okay! But if you did want to thicken it, stir in a 1 Tbsp cornstarch + 1 Tbsp water mixture and mix until thickened.
